My first segment

I don't want to get TOO excited about this...but I can't help it I already am! I am going to have my own segment on an IUSTV show called The Extension. I'm pumped! Really, it's not a big deal because its only IUSTV...and my segment will probably only be 3 minutes!! But it's my FIRST on-air experience, which will do wonders for my resume and when I'm searching for a job in Telecommunications.

The topic will be different each episode. Tonight, I'm doing a segment on sex, love, and relationships. Hopefully some people are willing to answer my questions! I'm asking outside the bars...so maybe my interviewees will be a little more...courageous. I think it will be good, but if its not a hit, my next segment will be on one of my 1000 other ideas for the show.

I think the last 2 episodes of the season will be in April, so I'll post the link when this one is finished. Its only about a 30 minute show. Then next semester, if the show is successful, we'll be on twice a month. I'll maybe have a segment in each episode, and hopefully get a chance to do some co-hosting as well.

Wish me luck!! Hopefully its as easy as I think it will be...but since I've never done it for all I know I'm awkward on camera! I'm sure it will definitely be harder than I thought, but I'm confident that I can do a good job.

Future.

Hi Blogville.

Update: Diet is going good. I have found that the more I exercise, the more I eat. So I'm taking a little time off from exercising, just because the intense running I do during trekking makes me SO hungry. Other than that, I have lost about 2 pounds just from not eating as much! I guess that really is the only answer.

I had an interview today with Sherwin-Williams. My dad says that a lot of good companies come to recruit at colleges in the spring so signing up for on-campus interviews is good experience. He was right...the experience was good! The man I interviewed with was very nice and I also kind of found an interest in the job. Before I was just going for good experience but I think I might like to work at a company Sherwin-Williams when I graduate. And no, grandma, its not just selling paint.

But...only about 75 days left until I go to LA to pursue what I really want to do...something in the entertainment media industry. I think that would just be fascinating. I can't see myself working 9-5 and coming home just to get away from my work. If I have to work overtime at a company like E! or at American Top 40, I think it would be so much better than just working 40 hours at a place I don't really enjoy.

I guess its good to have a lot of options. But for now, I'd like to keep my sights set on a career in telecommunications. If the economy says NO WAY to that...then maybe I'll look a little further into more "business-y" corporations.
